How the census works
Every truck gets the same order: a regular fries, eaten on site, no toppings. We score four things:
- The fry itself — cut, colour, crunch, interior fluff. Fresh-cut is table stakes on this corridor.
- The gravy question — offered, and if so, is it real?
- The wait — a chip truck is fast food; twenty minutes is a restaurant with wheels.
- The spot — shade, picnic tables, and something to look at count for more than people admit.
The contenders
To be filled by the census drive: the trucks at and around Perth, Sharbot Lake, Kaladar, Madoc, Marmora, and Havelock — plus the seasonal wildcards that appear and vanish like mayflies.
