Trent Valley Archives walks the east side after dark, from the haunted history of the Lift Lock to the Peterborough Theatre Guild's resident ghost and the sightings at the old St. Joseph's Hospital. Meet in the museum parking lot 5 to 10 minutes early. The route climbs Armour Hill and runs rain or shine. $20 on Eventbrite.

Friday nights at the Irish pub on Bridge Street, a different act each week and no cover. The lineup goes up a month at a time on the pub's own site, and they suggest booking a table.

Ham and scalloped potatoes, baked beans and dessert at St James, then a dance to the Bowes Brothers. Cash bar. Twenty-five dollars, with tickets from the church office ahead of time.
